Power of 1 bimetal radiator section

Today I propose to talk about the power of 1 section of a bimetallic radiator. About and we have already said, the turn of the bimetal has come. Bimetal in its characteristics is very similar to aluminum and therefore their power is almost similar ...

Let me remind you that bimetal is a relatively new type of material for radiators, which consists of two metals - a steel core inside and an aluminum case on top. This combination is designed primarily to work with high pressure in the radiators, up to 40 atmospheres.

In fact, bimetal is a modified aluminum radiator. However, the use of a steel core somewhat worsens the heat transfer of the radiator. Not much of course, but the fact remains.

Bimetal radiators, both actually and aluminum, are supplied mainly in two formats. 500 mm high and 350 mm high.

Radiator height 500 mm

This is the standard bimetallic radiator that is installed in hundreds of apartments in Russia. The power of one section of such a radiator, according to the manufacturer, ranges from 170 to 210 W of thermal energy . But in fact, after talking with the installers, you need to calculate the power of 1 section of 150 W of thermal energy. After all, manufacturers always overestimate the characteristics a little (they measure under ideal conditions, especially Chinese ones).

Radiator height 350 mm

This smaller version of radiators is installed either next to large windows. Or in hard to reach places. The power of such a section, according to the passport, ranges from 120 to 150 W of thermal energy . In fact, you should expect even from a good manufacturer about 100 - 120 W of heat.

As installers tell me, you always need to take batteries a little bit with a margin, otherwise the temperature in the room will not be comfortable (it will be cool).

Of course, you always need to correctly calculate the heating radiators (there on the shelves). Then the house will be warm and comfortable.

That's all, read our construction blog.
